INDIANAPOLIS – Open Control Systems (OCS) and Validated Custom Solutions (VCS) formally announced this week that the two companies are now a division of Envelop Group. This move by Envelop, which is already invested in the renewable energy technology with its majority stake in Power Storage Generation Energy Group (PSG Energy Group), signals its continued commitment to facility technologies.
“Our alignment of multiple organizations in the facility technology space is part of our broader vision to fully understand and enhance the benefits of total facility optimization for our clients,” said Travis Ihnen, President of Envelop Group.
Back in 2003, VCS was created with the intention of offering customized mechanical equipment solutions for all aspects of a highly engineered HVAC solution. Large-scale VCS projects have included customers in life sciences, healthcare, and education.
In 2004, OCS was formed to address the need for critical controls and large-scale facility optimization in regulated manufacturing environments, data centers, and other commercial properties. Over time, OCS and VCS have partnered to provide solutions in complex facility environments. By 2010, the two organizations had a presence in Indiana, Ohio, and Florida.
In 2013 , OCS acquired 74-year-old Indianapolis based firm, Electrical Equipment Company (EECO) and in 2014 they completed another acquisition of service firm Temp Control Services (TCS). These moves expanded OCS’ portfolio into fire alarm, security systems, advanced audio visual solutions, and data analytics for facility automation systems.
“The endeavor to consolidate various entities into the Envelop portfolio is part of an ongoing effort to bolster marketing and administrative resources of the companies,” said Ihnen.
